Premixed collodions

Premixed collodions with different salts ready to use. According to the added salt is a premixed collodion maturation period varies. Generally that:

Cadmium salts - extends lifetime - ripening period is extended

Ammonium salts - shortens lifetime - ripening period is shortened

Potassium salts - shortens lifetime - ripening period is shortened

- older collodion has a darker color (to dark red)
- older collodion is losing sensitivity (necessary to expose more)

If premixed collodion have  a short ripening time, this premixed collodion have a short life time and the reverse is also true.

SHORT Term
ripening time... a few days... 1-3
life time ... a few weeks... 2-3
